Odisha, part of India is known for its cultural heritage, traditional beliefs, temples, cuisines, and so on. As Indians, our life comprised festivities, delicacy and Odisha is no behind. Highlighting festivities, Rajo Purnima is one that festival celebrated in between mid-June, the three-day festival entirely focuses on the women of the land commemorating Vishuba Sankranti.

Festivals are always about decoration, colorful clothing, satisfying taste buds. No human being can ever avoid sweets or aren't a sweet tooth person, right? Talking of sweets, these festivals always encircles pithas which somewhere or the other is a compulsion, the women of the house will definitely form pithas to avoid the dullness. Pithas are the happiness of the families and friends assembled.

Odisha being a traditional land celebrates an end number of festivals and pithas are formed accordingly and Odisha believes a festival without their cultural food will definitely not work. Arisa pitha is one of a sweet pancake which is most preferable, crispier outside surrounds the inner softness. The land also consists of sugarcane production and therefore use of jaggery is a must. The arisa pitha is made of rice flour, jaggery, ghee, cinnamon, salt in addition to the essence the women of Odisha use sesame seeds.

People of Odisha generally prefer Guda Arisa pitha. Arisa pitha can also be made of suji, atta depending on one's preference. Arisa pitha is not just made during the Rajo Purnima but also during Manabasa, etc.
