Raja Festival.

Respect, love towards women of the land during Rajo:-

Relaxed with a heart full of joy she is,

Laughing, eating, wearing new clothes, dancing all over.

Odisha, the land of culture, celebrates an end number of festivals. Different backgrounds of people come together and be a part. Rajo, also known as Mithuna Sankranti is one of a kind. The three or four-day festival is celebrated all over the country by this community of people. The womanhood they celebrate, be it the girl of the house or mother earth.

With time, Rajo faced several variations too likewise people of the villages still tries to maintain the custom. Rajo generally consists of 4 phases, starting from Sajabaja, Pahili Raja, Bhoinayan and ends with Vasumati snana. The farmers of the land quit cropping for this momentum delivering respect, love to its mother, the earth we all live in.

In addition, families all over the country celebrate rajo in the form of get-togethers, feasts, "She " of the houses dresses up, podha pithas been made, not just podha pitha several other dishes been formed, rajo pana being distributed among. Well, every girl of the generations waits for this day, the sense of relaxation, the sense of joy, the laughter they feel these four days are indispensable from every girl's lives. A villager still believes in customs, ancestral beliefs and therefore every girl of a village wake up at 4 in the morning, wears churi , sindoor, new dresses, doli's of bamboo being formed and the girls play, dance , eats, distributes pithas and pana among the families of the neighborhood.

Hence, every girl of the village believes in bhumi puja and does the following with flowers and Chandan on the last day and delivers her respect towards our mother, Earth who unconditionally takes care of each one of us keeping no expectations. Western Odisha does not celebrate Rajo but parts of Odisha also believe girls shouldn't walk barefooted and therefore keeps banana leaves all over to pamper these ladies of the community with respect, love.

Rajo, a celebration of womanhood, has several beliefs all over the land yet you, me, or anyone who celebrates cherished all the woman these three to four days cause she, the strong, the affectionate, the responsible, girl, a mother deserves it all.
