Sugarcane, the assistance of livelihood.

{In this organized livelihood that we live in, there are still unauthorized methods that we believe in.}

Jharsuguda, a district of our state Odisha is well known for its agriculture sector all over India. Also, there are good facilities available for technology management here. In such a situation, there is a Tenganamal village located at a distance of 75 km from the Jharsuguda city, where modern technologies are still unknown to the people. In this village, people use mythological technology-based machines to live a healthy life.

Meanwhile, in the Tenganamal village, about 50 acres of land cultivate sugarcane in abundance. But the Government is still unrevealed to the territory, Due to which they get only half of the money paid for their hard work. For information, "if this raw sugarcane implements in the market, then this price will be quite profitable." But, the villagers prepare unblended jaggery using this sugarcane, which they sell in the market for Rs 20 to 25 per kg. This is all they earn in a whole day to live healthy lives.

"Even education is helpless to us, also after completing our studies, getting a job will not be easier for us. With such circumstances, if we want to be enlightened, then we wouldn't afford our daily meals", one of the residents exclaimed.

Therefore, Tengnamal is famous for its unblended jaggery. Specifically, villagers use mythological techniques to prepare jaggery. In a very organic procedure, they complete the whole process of making jaggery from sugarcanes. With the help of two oxen, they facilitate a sugarcane juice cartridge then they put a big vessel on the stove where this collected juice cooked on high flame for two to three hours. After cooking it on high flame, when it becomes slightly thick and stops gluing on the container, they left it to cool for a while. After this whole cooking process, a family comes together to prepare the tiny portion of this jaggery which they sell. After a great deal of hard work they put forth, they can only pocket 20 to 25 rupees per day.

Although these people of Tenganamal also produce Ukhra with roasting paddy rice in a pot. Sambalpuris also uses these ukhra's in pujas as an offering, white unusual but preferable this is.

Well, sustainability is all that matters isn't it? It's us who make our own choices to sustain this unpredictable life cause no man is going to provide assistance if we are grounded, so are the people of Tenganamal.
